Toothbrush Abrasion and How to Avoid
Toothbrush Abrasion happens over time with heavy brushing at the gum line. One starts to see a crevice forming in the tooth at the gum line and gums receding . In extreme cases over time the crevice can deepen and the tooth become more sensitive. When the crevice breaks into going nerve chamber of the tooth, sensitivity gives way to pain as the nerve dies and becomes infected. The treatment is root canal, post, and crown.
Avoid heavy brushing, use soft toothbrush, and switch to gel toothpaste which are less abrasive than silica containing pastes.
